Priorities for India
Export priorities
India currently exports goods and services. Traditional exports are seen as sending goods overseas for sale or providing services to overseas customers.
India can build on its approach to Exports. Rather than looking to present products and services for sale, as typical “push” marketing, India has a unique opportunity to seek out opportunities to utilise Indian skills and industry capacity to:
-
Make products for overseas companies and markets
-
Provide competitive and professional services to overseas companies.
The Export Marketing strategy can be focused on determining what parts of the global production or supply chains that need to be fulfilled, identifying the existing capabilities of Indian industry and companies then negotiating for delivery of the transformations. New opportunities for transformational activities will be found.
Many Services are typically provided on-line and India has excellent expertise in this area. India is in a unique position to offer many physical and transactional services too.
Transformational activities from raw materials processing to advanced manufacturing and distribution, packaging and delivery can all become expert services of India.
India’s governments can assist in this new prioritised Export model; supporting Indian small to medium enterprise, industry and the economy through an Export Marketing Tax Incentive (EMTI).
